It has come to my attention that at least one Guilford County elementary school is collecting bottle caps to raise funds to help pay for cancer treatments at Brenner Children's Hospital.
It's a hoax. Previously perpetrated on rubes elsewhere. So says Snopes. So says The American Cancer Society.
The adults who got this started should bite the bullet and admit they've been had rather than trying to save face by pretending that it is legitimate and allowing it to continue, as they are.
