Looking for some thoughtless and immature voting advice? My cronies and I recommend Yes! Weekly.

Yes! Weekly published its anonymous endorsements for city council this week. In addition to endorsing more candidates than voters can vote for in each race, they (he? she?) explained the endorsements with some rather questionable reasoning, including saying they (he? she?) support at-large candidate Robbie Perkins "for his staunch support of former City Manager Mitchell Johnson."

That prompted me to ask in the comments:
"Can you explain why being a staunch supporter of Mitch Johnson is a plus in your book?"
To which an anonymous commenter on behalf of Yes! replied:
"Roch: We do not agree with you and your cronies about Mitch Johnson and you damn well know it. We have a long body of work, thousands of words, stating our reasons. Feel free to hit our archives."
If you are looking for thoughtless immaturity as a guide for your voting decisions, Yes! is for you.

  1. Funny how the weekly "alternative" paper endorses the tired old good ole boys and race baiters. The fact that they feel DBS has actually contributed anything of value greatly discredits their views.

  2. I skimmed through but threw the paper down after I couldn't find Dan Fischer's name anywhere in the paper. I did see Coad's, Hester's, and Kee's. Maybe I didn't look hard enough. If that's the case, my bad.

  3. Brandon: Yes, your bad. We endorsed both Nettie Coad and Jim Kee in the D-2 primary.
Believe it or not, though, we didn't take your reaction into consideration when we deliberated.
And I hope you threw the paper down into a recycling bin and not onto the street.

--And that is your bad. You lost one reader and your advertisers lost one potential customer.

  5. After weeks of lauditory articles on Jorge Cornell, I was somewhat surprised to see that YES! did not endorse the gang leader, er, convicted felon, er community organizer/head of some kind of group.

Surely YES! has the courage of its convictions, correct? Hello? Buehler?
