GREENSBORO, NC -- The News & Record and the Triad Business Journal both report today on "The State of the City: 2011," a report "prepared for," as the News & Record describes it, the Greensboro Partnership. Both reporters proceed to tell us what they think we need to know about the report, but where is the report? It is not attached to either reporter's story and neither has yet to reply to a request to access it online or by email. Most astounding, the Greensboro Partnership website doesn't have a word about it, much less the report itself. (Their PDF clad news items appear quite stale.)
I don't understand the secrecy. In this day and age, it is simply incredible to report to the public the contents of a report and not make the source document available. Unimpressed.
