Went to the Wyndham golf tournament today. The course looked great, good crowd, friendly workers, easy access to great viewing with the abilities of professional golfers made all the more impressive in close-up person -- then the rain came.
Although it was heartening to see Greensboro City Councilor Mike Barber soaked to the bone, working the shuttle bus line, shuffling people with young children off to dry confines, the rest of us bums had to stand outside in a line easily one thousand people long for an hour as the rains came down and a trickle of shuttle buses ferried people back to their cars at the coliseum.
A little better planning for inclement weather next year, and I'm sure the Wyndham will be an unqualified success. This year though, bring a poncho and plenty of patience.
