Last night, gang leader and Greensboro city council candidate Jorge Cornell was arrested in what Cornell describes as "a clear case of racial profiling and dehumanization." At the beginning of the video, one can see Cornell step in front of a police officer and the officer can be heard telling Cornell to "Get out of my face" and "Get away from me" or be arrested.
Based only on the video, it seems to give expanded meaning to the definition of disorderly conduct. However, I don't know what preceded it so it's hard to be certain it wasn't the last of several warnings. I really don't know.

It looks like something happened before Jorge stepped in and made this about him. That one tall kid keeps saying, "They're trying to blame it on me" or "blame it on me".
ReplyDeleteI'd really like to know what was being blamed here. If it was a crime or potential crime, Cornell stepping in and saying, "You don't need to talk to them" is borderline obstruction.

Why is Cornell smiling while his kids are crying? It seems to me that Cornell involved himself in something that was none of his business, willfully giving cops a hard time who otherwise would've had nothing to do with him and his happy family. He couldn't let them continue their investigation into god knows what?
