Greensboro blogger and curmudgeon Bubba posts a super scary video about a woman on a public health care plan in Oregon that declined to pay for a cancer fighting drug for her. The health plan will pay for "physician aid in dying" though, that being legal in Oregon. See? SEE?!? DEATH PANELS!!!
So, the drug in question is Tarceva. A course of treatment can cost up to $100,000. My $300 a month Blue Cross Blue Shield of NC policy has a $2,000 annual maximum payout on this type of specialty drug. Should I need this drug, my cost, after my insurance "pays for it" would be $98,000.
So tell me, all you Bubbas, am I -- or anybody with BCBSNC insurance -- are we really in any different situation than that lady in Oregon with our "free market" solution?
Let's face it, because it is abundantly obvious, there are some people so damn insistent that Obama not achieve any success, that they are willing to keep Americans, their neighbors, on the brink of disaster and no tactic, no matter how despicable, is off limits. It is really disgusting.
Preach brotha, preach!!!!! It's so obvious, that a blind man can see it.
ReplyDeleteBy any means neccessary, President Barack Hussein Obama need to be destroyed. If we destroy ourselves in the process, so it!
God Bless America
It is disgusting Roch, but the worst part is comparing those who want to reform health insurance to the likes of the Nazi's. Yes, progressives want to INCREASE access to health insurance for all Americans and make it more affordable, but somehow that equates to a group of evil individuals who murdered over 6 million people during WWII.
ReplyDeleteAs Barney Frank recently said "What planet do you spend most of your time on?"
Ged,
ReplyDeletePlease pay attention. That woman at the Frank town hall was a Rouchie.
Left-wing TV networks MSNBC, NBC and CNN made a deliberate effort to associate an image of Barack Obama with a Hitler mustache that was created by the Lyndon LaRouche organization with the Obamacare protesters, virtually none of whom have ever heard of LaRouche. For the record, LaRouche is a nut, a Communist or former Communist, a member of the Democratic Party, and a candidate for President who did rather well in Democratic Party primaries as recently as 2000. Why are you so gulible as to swallow this slop? Sad and/or pathetic.
Stop a minute and watch this and then apologize to the decent Americans expressing their oposition to this health care plan. Ya know 1st Amendment etc

You can't really be serious about the level of vitriol and hatred spewed out by the left against Bush for 8 years as compared with that against Obama's POLICIES ( not the person ). I won't drink that kool aide but help your self. Early on in the Bush administration a CBS late night show flashed a not so subliminal message on the screen.

Fred, you tired stubborn old man. It is one thing if you are willing to dumb yourself down to the level of a slug in order to maintain your mean view of the world, but don't ask us to do so. The link you provide does not offer what you say it does, so go be stupid somewhere else, because your crap, here and in my inbox, is annoying the hell out of me for its utter repulsiveness.
ReplyDeleteRoach,
ReplyDeleteYou are a great Amerikan but a stinkin' ageist who happens to be annoyed by the truth.
BTW did you
Speak Up ?
Fred Gregory
To Ged, ( others please remain quiet )
ReplyDeleteThen and Now
The truth shall set you free
Fred Gregory
Fred, I've been civil in replying to you about issues of politics but frankly until Obama's been in office at least 2 years, I'd suggest you re-examine what it means to be an American.
ReplyDeleteIf the economy hasn't improved, if our civil liberties have eroded, if we live in a socialized nation and if my taxes have increased by 30% or more as you so often like to profess to me, then I'll be the first to lead the revolt.
Bush fucked the country for the last 6 years of his time in office, despite what people like yourself might think. Obama deserves time to turn things around. If he doesn't do a good job he and the Dems will pay in 2010, which, by the way, is how it is supposed to work.
That's the democratic republic in which we live. It's worked well for over 200 years so I find the right's sudden paranoia regarding health care reform laughable, and your toothless attempts to blame the Nazi rhetoric on the left typical of conservatives these days. So insecure in your positions its actually funny.
Ged,
ReplyDeleteIf you wait till it's that bad , I am sorry, but your revolt will be squashed like a bug
Speak Up Now
Fred
Here is what you should consider, Fred. Like Ged, I too have extended goodwill and respect towards you. Agreement with me was not a prerequisite to admiring your civic engagement.
ReplyDeleteThat Ged and I, people who used to respect you, now find your means and methods repulsive might, just might, be a reason for you to pause a minute and think about why.
There are a couple of folks who refer to Roch as "Roach." That kind of sillyness is annoying and immature. How brilliant is that, that you can make fun of someone's name? If you engage in that sort of middle school behavior, please understand that I cannot possibly take ANYTHING you say seriously.
ReplyDeleteRoch,
ReplyDeleteExactly what methods and means ? Can you point out anything in the the links I previously left that is untruthful.
To start with I called BS on Ged for his lame smear of town hall protesters, and backed it up. His attempt to mislead should have been challenged by you since it was at best intellectualy dishonest and at worst deliberately decietful. And you let him get away with it, knowing better.
BTW, JW, Roch started the name calling with epithets that are prohibited under EEOC laws and regs. So there !

In some instances on other blogs you have been respectful to me and in others you have been, albeit infreqently, rude and insulting. As I recall Ged has been, in private and well as on blogs been civil and polite .
I look forward to specificity.
Respectfully
Fred Gregory
"Can you point out anything in the the links I previously left that is untruthful.
ReplyDelete" -- Fred
Yes, Fred. You wrote above, "That woman at the Frank town hall was a Rouchie," and offered a link as "proof." The link offered no such proof. If you think that it did, then you are operating a level of misunderstanding that I do not have the time for or interest in correcting. If you knew that the link offered no such information, then you are simply being dishonest, something else I have no patience for.
Additionally, the other "information" you are emailing me and posting here is taunting propaganda. These are serious times with serious consequences, that you think mockery is the best you can offer, you'll understand why I find that repugnant.
Roch,
ReplyDeleteGo stand in the corner because if you have patience and quiet tolerance for Ged's gross misinformation and distortion, then I will voluntarily end this conversation with a portion of a town hall meeting wherein a Congresscritter that had put out the same libel as Ged ( equating protestors to " evil " brown shirt mass murderers ), got a deserved rebuke from
David a former US Marine
Oh and Roch the woman at the Frank town hall was holding a sign that had the LaRouche logo on it. And maybe she was a Democrat, or a Rouchie but no one seems to think she was a Republican.
Her own words
"This policy is already on the way out. It already has been defeated by LaRouche." She also underscores her crazy LaRouchite beliefs by claiming that the U.S. has "30% real unemployment". No one disputes that LaRouchites are on the fringe -- but it's indisputable that they are fringe Democrats. They oppose Obamacare because they want a single-payer plan. ( No doubt not good enough for you and your Alinsky rules , huh, Roch ? )
You don't seem to require the same high standard of proof from Ged when he pulls his cheap shots, huh, Roch?
Me thinks
The left protests too much over town halls

"The protesters have stolen the show, with 69 percent of Americans telling pollsters they are following the story closely. Town-hall-goers -- some raucous -- are probing costs, are raising questions about government encroachment on private life, and are deploring the fact that few legislators seem to have read the 1,000-page health care reform bill. Democrats have often had trouble answering credibly.
The protesters are having an impact. Last week, the administration appeared to pull back on the "public option" as a centerpiece of Obama's reform agenda.
I thought folks on the left loved protesters -- the rowdier, the better. Liberals are fond of reminding us that free speech is sacred, and that dissent -- "speaking truth to power" -- is a patriotic duty. Remember the 2008 Republican National Convention? The ACLU of Minnesota went to court to win a parade permit that would have allowed thousands of protesters, including anarchists who had vowed to shut down the convention, to encircle St. Paul's Xcel Energy Center, where delegates convened."
So afterall you really don't like protests ? Depends, huh, Roch ?
Bye
Fred Gregory
