Recalling email?

I am on the City of Greensboro media email list. Occasionally they send out something with some wrong information and that is followed by another email "recalling" the first email. I only ever get email recalls from the City of Greensboro and I am never sure how to respond. Should I send the original back to the sender, as I would return a recalled can of tuna? Isn't attempting to recall an email like trying to recall a fart?
