In a letter to the editor in today's News & Record (Greensboro, NC), Diane Manzi of Greensboro writes:
"Speaking about her son deploying to Iraq, Palin said: 'Our national leaders are sending them out on a task that is from God. That’s what we have to make sure that we’re praying for, that there is a plan and that plan is God’s plan.'"
That is not an accurate quote. I'll leave it to readers to decide the extent to which the actual quote changes the meaning (I think it does), but what Palin actually said was:
"Pray for our military men and women who are striving to do what is right also for this country; that our leaders, our national leaders, are sending them out on a task that is from God. That's what we have to make sure that we're praying for, that there is a plan and that that plan is God's plan."
