"We're pleased to extend you [sic] additional savings."Wow! That's great Mike, because as someone who is just waiting for this to come into production before I stop buying your TV service, it's smart of you to recognize that your basic cable subscribers might not be enamored with cable TV and are probably the least willing to accept a price increase.
The second piece of mail I got from Time Warner Cable was my bill. It turns out Mike's "additional savings" translated to a 48% increase, from $88 to $130.00
Thanks a lot, Mike. You suck.
As an owner of some rural property, I have suffered multiple problems from T-W. They drove a bucket truck over a septic tank AFTER I TOLD THEM WHERE IT IS AND TOLD THEM NOT TO DO IT. They came back after I left and did it. When working at utility poles, they throw their trash down into the farm fields near the poles. Pieces of cable, junction boxes, etc. Their cables, if buried, are supposed to be buried at least 30" deep if on highway easements. Repeatedly hit them with farm implements that do not penetrate more than about 8" deep. Those cables were plowed in by itinerant contractors that were not supervised. And twice they buried cables where they had no easement. Don't get me started on what their contractor installers do with drills inside houses.
ReplyDeleteA shield protecting cable transitioning from aerial to buried (or vice-versa) fell off the pole. When TW was notified by phone about the shield, they said (LYING) that they do not serve that area.
$130.00 for basic cable?
ReplyDeleteYou've got to be kidding.
That's the total of basic cable and internet access, which yes, went from $87.78 to $129.77—a "bundle" without which the services individually would total $178.93.
ReplyDeleteThe TV portion, which includes their additional charge for "broadcast TV" accounts for more than half of my new amount: $68.99
I got two pieces of mail from Mike basically stating the same thing. My husband and I only have basic cable, we had to drop digital tier last year because it got so expensive, and now they say they are saving us money by increasing our basic cable service by twenty dollars, and our internet service by twenty dollars, so they're going up on us, $40 a month, and they're saying they care about our service? They also LIED saying we had only a promotional service and we have been cable customers for over 31 years so how does that make our contract a promotional one? What's really going on here is that they have the class action lawsuit over the blackout thing up north and they are trying to get us southern customers to pay that bill. Totally unfair. We should all protest and pull the plug.
ReplyDeleteSame letter received up North, too.
