As Jay Rosen argues, the days when it was enough to just give both sides of a story — without providing any additional viewpoints or fact-checking — are over. He said/she said journalism is both an ethical lapse and a failure to understand how the media business itself has changed.Of course, I could have it all wrong. Maybe the News & Record deserves more credit and has simply decided that their audience is not people who want to know the truth. Maybe they've decided their business opportunities lie with telling people what they want to hear.
