Greensboro's Bill Burnett rallies to the defense of mendacity

Bill Burnett of Greensboro has a letter to the editor in today's (Greensboro, NC) News & Record. In it, he writes:
"...I would rather vote for a telephone pole than to vote to re-elect a council member who voted to dismiss the competent former city manager, Mitchell Johnson."
Former City Manager Johnson made racially provocative statements to the public that were not supported by the facts. Mr. Burnett defends those who tolerated this deception and condemns those who set a higher standard. Greensboro deserves better.

  1. His letter is typical of the pandering News and Record engages in. From what they print, you would think they expect their readers to not even have enough intelligence to even be able to read.--brandonB

  2. how did they let that letter get by, that was a pathetic letter to editor, especially if someone actually believes it was a real poll.
