In March, 2009, the Greensboro City Council passed a resolution supporting legislation that would require municipal officials to comply with the same ethics guidelines as state officials. Although not yet required by law, at-large city council candidate Nancy Vaughan has completed and made public the North Carolina State Ethics Commission 2009 Statement of Economic Interest. She has issued a challenge to "current city council members and candidates to complete the same form."
