In 2011, one in every six men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer.Wow! Really? That's horrible. At that rate, every man alive will have prostate cancer by 2016. Which, of course, is so absurd that it cannot be true And it is not.
According to the National Cancer Institute, there were 217,730 new cases of prostate cancer in the U.S. in 2010. That's about one in every five hundred and fourteen adult men. Not one in six.
I was nearly prostrated by the initial estimate. Do my chances go down by not being much of a man?
